No questions are silly. Here are the most common ones — but if you don't see yours, just get in touch.
Wear whatever you're comfortable in. Once we're in the treatment room, you'll undress to your comfort level — most clients stay in underwear under the linens. We work with professional draping at all times and only expose the area being treated. You stay in control throughout.
We start with a 10-minute intake conversation: what's going on, your medical/injury history, and what you want to get out of the session. Then hands-on treatment tailored to all that. We finish with a debrief — what I noticed, what we did, and your personalised stretching plan to take home. The whole experience is paced for you, not rushed.
Yes — free street parking is available on Barkly Street and the surrounding streets, usually with reasonable turnover. Footscray Train Station is also a 5-minute walk if you're catching public transport, with bus routes running directly past the clinic.
Absolutely. I bring a full professional set-up — table, linens, oils — to your home or workplace anywhere across inner-west and inner Melbourne. Mobile sessions are the same quality as in-clinic, just in your own space. Ideal if you have mobility limits, kids at home, or just prefer not to go anywhere afterwards. See our Mobile Massage page for details.
PNF stands for Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation — an evidence-based stretching technique that uses a contract-relax cycle to produce immediate, measurable gains in flexibility and range of motion. Where most stretching just elongates the muscle temporarily, PNF re-educates your nervous system on what "safe" range of motion looks like, creating lasting change. We include PNF stretching with every session at no extra cost, because it makes the rest of the work stick.
Yes — every session ends with a personalised stretching and mobility plan tailored to your body, your job, your sport, and your recovery goals. Delivered digitally so you can refer back to it any time at home, work, or the gym. The plan is built around the principle that what happens between sessions matters as much as what happens during them.
Life happens, and I get it. I ask for 24 hours notice where possible. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged at 50% of the session fee; no-shows at 100%. Honest reschedules made in advance are always welcome — just shoot a message. Repeat last-minute cancellations may need a prepayment to rebook.
It depends entirely on your goals. For pain or injury recovery: weekly to fortnightly until things resolve, then taper. For general maintenance: every 3–4 weeks works well for most people. For high-volume athletes in training blocks: weekly. For acute stress/burnout periods: more often initially, then space out. We'll work out the right cadence for you based on what you're after.
Absolutely — remedial massage is one of the most effective tools for soft-tissue injury rehabilitation, restoring range of motion, breaking down scar tissue and supporting return to activity. I work alongside your physio, GP or specialist as part of a wider rehab plan, never instead of medical advice. If we suspect something needs imaging or specialist review, I'll always tell you straight.
Good question — and the short answer is: it shouldn't, and definitely not in a way you haven't consented to. Some remedial and deep tissue work creates a productive discomfort (the "good pain" people talk about), but pain is never a goal. You stay in control of pressure throughout, and I'll always check in. If something doesn't feel right, just say so.
Yes — when you book online, you'll receive a short intake form by email. It takes 2-3 minutes and covers the basics (any injuries, medical considerations, what you're hoping to get out of the session). Submitting it ahead of time means we can spend our session on treatment, not paperwork.
Of course — if having a support person in the room helps you feel comfortable, you're welcome to bring one. Just let me know in your booking notes so I can set up the space appropriately.
Drop me a message — I'm happy to chat through anything before you book. No pressure either way.
